Our school environments have gone through radical changes in the twentieth century, from one room school houses where everybody knew each other personally, to schools where metal detectors are at each entrance and teachers are untrusting of every student. With these new pressures safety is an all important matter. Alan Foust brings a wealth of knowledge on different aspects of security, including personal, school-wide and classroom safety.

Alan has served 15 years on the Missouri State Highway Patrol, including ten years as a narcotics investigator and trainer. He was involved in over 2,000 investigations while on the force.

Alan is credentialed by the American Society for Industrial Security as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP). He is presently a security consultant and corporate trainer with A.S.E.T. Inc. (Asset Security and Employee Training) and is a certified trainer for Vital Learning, The Zenger-Miller series, OSHA safety compliance. The environments in which he works are manufacturing, health care and educational institutions.

Alan has authored The Security Handbook, a manual on personal safety and security. He is the author and publisher of The Informer; a bi-monthly newsletter that provides information on how to reduce loss, injury, & conflict in the workplace.
