Barbara Pearl, author and international speaker, is recognized around the country as an inspirational and motivational presenter with a "positive message" about mathematics and learning. She is a frequent keynote and featured speaker at educational conferences for mathematics, bilingual and the gifted.

A graduate of Temple University, she is a certified math teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Her graduate work was done at Hunter College in New York City. Barbara has also attended schools in Europe and was an exchange teacher in England.

She is currently Director of Math in Motion, an award winning hands-on educational program for teachers and students. She developed Math in Motion while working as a classroom teacher and has taught at both the elementary and secondary levels. "I believe that math ability is related to attitude versus aptitude and that ALL children, especially girls and minorities can develop MATH POWER!"

Barbara has been distinguished as "an excellent instructor with a true love of her subject and a gift for knowing her audience." Featured on national TV and in Creative Classroom, she is also a contributing writer for educational magazines and journals. She has received numerous grants and awards including the "1997 Ezra Jack Keats Award" as presenter of the year.
