Sandra Worsham has been teaching writing for 30 years and has
recently retired. In 1982, she was named Georgia's Teacher of
the Year. In 1992, she won the Milken National Educator Award;
in 1999, she was chosen for the Georgia Teacher Hall of Fame;
and in 2000, she was inducted into the National Teachers Hall
of Fame.
A writer herself, Sandra has published ten short stories and
won a state grant to write a novel. In 1999, she edited a book
written by her students entitled Everybody Has a Story to
Tell: Stories from Flannery O'Connor's Milledgeville. She has
also written articles for the English Journal, including
"Making Winners of the No-Win Track". In June, 2006, Sandra
received a Master of Fine Arts in Writing and Literature from
Bennington College.
She has delivered over 100 workshops throughout the United
States.
