Gayle Gregory

Gayle Gregory has been a teacher in elementary, middle and high schools. For many years, she taught in schools with extended periods of instructional time (block schedules). She has had extensive district-wide experience as a curriculum consultant and staff development coordinator. Most recently, she was course director at York University for the Faculty of Education, teaching in the teacher education program. She now consults internationally (Europe, Asia, North & South America, Australia) with teachers, administrators, and staff developers in the areas of brain-compatible learning, block scheduling, emotional intelligence, instructional and assessment practices, collaborative learning, presentation skills, renewal of secondary schools, enhancing teacher quality, coaching and mentoring, and managing change. She is affiliated with many organizations, such as the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Staff Development Council, and is the co-author of Designing Brain Compatible Learning and Thinking Inside the Block Schedule for teaching in extended periods of time.

Gayle's books include Differentiated Instructional Strategies: One Size Doesn't Fit All (2002) and Differentiated Instructional Strategies in Practice: A guide for Training, Implementation and Supervision (2003). She is also a featured presenter in the Video Journal on "Differentiating Instruction to Meet the Needs of All Students" (2002). She is committed to lifelong learning and professional growth for herself and others.
